Developers Break Ground on Twin Lakes Technology Center

In August 2026, developers broke ground on the Twin Lakes Technology Center in Roseville, with plans to turn a former brownfield site into a 155,000-square-foot innovation hub. This project, located at 1945 Twin Lakes Parkway, can change the shape of Roseville, creating a space where advanced manufacturing and entrepreneurship thrive.

“This development is particularly exciting because it takes underutilized land and gives it new life,” says Janie Gundlach, Community Development Director for the City of Roseville Economic Development Authority (REDA). “A former truck depot site now has a bright future for the community, with space for innovators across different industries.”

Hyde Development and Mortenson Construction are leading the project and already have several prospective tenants interested in the space. Construction is expected to be completed in February 2027. 

The Site Sat Vacant for 20 Years

A brownfield site is a property that has previously been developed, which may be difficult to build on because of pollutants or contaminated soil. The land where the future Twin Lakes Technology Center is located is a former brownfield property. Hyde Development spent $7.5 million on remediation to make the land safe for future use.

“This site had strong fundamentals, including location, access, and market demand, but it also had real barriers that kept redevelopment from previously moving forward,” says Paul Hyde, co-founder of Hyde Development, in a press release.

In fact, the space was vacant for 20 years before any company spent the time and resources to make it developable. 

The Future is Green for the Twin Lakes Technology Center

Despite its history as a truck depot and abandoned lot, developers are excited about the sustainable technology and green innovations that will be used to construct the Twin Lakes Technology Center in the coming months. A few design features to support future tenants include:

• An insulated metal panel enclosure to reduce energy demand.
• Large-scale infrastructure enhancements, including rooftop solar.
• All-electric building systems to support lower emissions.
• EV charging stations for employee and fleet vehicles.

The blueprints ensure the Twin Lakes Technology Center will operate at its best without high electricity costs. Demand for energy will remain low with high-quality insulation, while solar panels support self-sustaining energy generation.

The Center Makes Roseville an Innovation Hub
