Rose & Loon offers Midwest artists and makers a place to sell their unique creations.
Its bright and spacious store in Rosedale Center makes it easy for shoppers to browse and learn more about the inspiration and artistry behind each piece. One-of-a-kind items, including jewelry, candles, art prints, pottery, cooking mixes, and even furniture, are artfully displayed alongside information about each artist.
“There is something so wonderful about the opportunity to find unique, specially crafted products that bring style and flavor to our lives,” said Nikki Hollerich, Rose & Loon co-owner, along with her sister Anna Hagen.
“We have a strong mission to support these creators as makers helping other makers.”
Celebration event
This past summer, the sisters took ownership of Rose & Loon. They are planning a sixth-anniversary event from Fri., November 1, through Sun., November 3, to celebrate their new ownership and welcome a new group of small business entrepreneurs.
The weekend celebration will include classes, demonstrations, meet and greets with makers and food sampling. Customers can participate in raffles and giveaways of products and artwork sold in the store. Saturday at 3:30 p.m. will include a special toast and presentation featuring Dry Wit non-alcoholic beverages, one of Rose & Loon’s beloved brands.
Rose & Loon concept
Throughout its existence, Rose & Loon’s mission has been to elevate local artisan goods and help makers grow their businesses. Hagen and Hollerich plan to keep the tradition alive, hosting 50 makers and their creative products from throughout the Midwest.
“We lift up the women and men who craft, design, cook, sew, mix, and do so much to fill our store with their passion and goods," according to the Rose & Loon website.
With lengthy experience as local small business owners with Hagen & Oats and Six for Good, Hagen and Hollerich saw Rose & Loon as an opportunity to expand their values.
“While it may be easy to click on a website, we believe there is a big disconnect with the experience of online or big box shopping,” said Hagen. “The impact of shopping small is massive because people want the unique nature of creativity our makers provide. We’re proud to offer that opportunity.”
Roseville support
Rose & Loon’s new owners recognize its location in Rosedale Center provides significant advantages for their business.
“Rosedale is constantly innovating and is full as a result, which brings in customers,” said Hollerich. “There is so much around in Roseville that we know people will stop in at our store while shopping for their other needs.”
