Partners in sustainability
The city’s dedication to eco-consciousness extends well beyond springtime events. Numerous allies collaborate on programs that appeal to residents or businesses with simple and even fun methods to do their part in building a better community for all.
Energy partnerships
Roseville encourages businesses to participate in achieving community energy goals through the Xcel Energy Partners in Energy program. Resources like the Small Business Energy Savings flyer and the Energy Savings Decision Tree are available to guide businesses in identifying energy priorities and developing a path toward making energy-efficient choices through the resources available locally.
Lighting rebates
The Center for Energy and Environment can cover up to 60% of project costs through its One-Stop Efficient Shop initiative. The Center will help with a free lighting assessment, review of upgrade options, tailored upgrades and assistance with rebate paperwork to help make eco-friendly choices in a fiscally rewarding manner.
Reduce waste
BizRecycling provides assistance and grants for businesses, nonprofits, schools, apartment buildings and institutions interested in reducing waste and improving recycling. The program has assisted over 1,400 entities and awarded more than 900 grants since 2014 to promote better waste management practices in cost-efficient methods.
Save money and energy
The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Energy Smart Program provides energy consultations and utility bill analysis to help businesses identify energy and cost-saving opportunities. On-site, expert energy consultations helped identify the potential for businesses to reduce electricity and natural gas usage, which ultimately reduces financial output and environmentally detrimental emissions.
Efficient properties
Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing through MinnPACE helps commercial building owners invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency upgrades with no upfront costs. MinnPACE is a division of the Saint Paul Port Authority and Minnesota’s largest PACE financing provider.
