Like a damaged puzzle piece, one 12-acre parcel of land is all that stands between Roseville and its half-century quest to finish its Twin Lakes development.

A former trucking terminal, the property is a contaminated eyesore that keeps prospective buyers at bay due to its hefty, upfront environmental cleanup costs.

Still, Janice Gundlach, Roseville’s Community Development Director, sees possibilities.

“This is our biggest redevelopment opportunity left in the city,” she said. “It’s going to take a pretty sophisticated developer to do it, but it’ll happen. We’ve had a lot of interest — nothing that’s actually happened yet — but this is the best opportunity left.”
