Residents and visitors rave about the shopping in Roseville, MN. Browsing through the shops at the 1.2 million-square-foot Rosedale Center and five other shopping centers within the city limits is a favorite indoor activity for people of all ages.
But Roseville is also a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with nearly 70 miles of trails and 32 parks covering almost 700 acres. This July is Parks and Recreation Month, so now is the perfect time to get outside in Roseville.

The City of Roseville Economic Development Authority understands the vital role parks and recreation play in our community. They are essential for residents’ high quality of life and enjoyment and for new families looking for a place to live. Parks and recreation can also serve as an economic driver. Celebrate Park and Recreation Month with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to recognize the power parks and recreation opportunities have in Roseville. This year, the NRPA’s theme is “Where Community Grows,” directing attention to bringing people together to foster goodwill and growth in communities nationwide. Harriet Alexander Nature Center
Tucked within Rosedale’s Central Park, Harriet Alexander Nature Center offers hiking trails throughout 52 acres of marsh, prairie, and deciduous/pine forest for year-round recreation.
In addition to the typical nature trails, ball fields, play structures and picnic areas, Langton Lake Park is a favorite for fishing, canoeing and other fun on the water.
Also within Central Park, the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum is eight acres of beautifully manicured grounds, gardens, walkways and architectural features.
The 115-acre Reservoir Woods offers miles of walking, running and hiking trails in a remote setting interrupted only by occasional path and invasive plant maintenance. The park is also home to the five-acre Woodview Off-leash Dog Park.
Roseville has nearly 70 miles of trails, sidewalks and off-road paths. Bicyclists of all ages and levels of experience can plan an excursion in Roseville with the help of this map. The City is committed to improving its pathways to meet the needs of its users.
